In music therapy, the therapeutic relationship is the important variables related to the outcome of treatment. This study explored the psychological burn-out and countertransfrence management ability of music therapists as the main variables influencing the therapeutic relationship through literature review. mindfulness was considered to have a beneficial effect on the therapeutic relationship by improving countertransference management ability and by reducing psychological burn-out. Therefore, based on the literature review, we tried to establish and verify the theoretical model. First, data were collected through questionnaires for 163 music therapists, and conducted a structural equation model verification. As a result of analysis, The theoretical model that influenced the mindfulness of music therapist through full duplication of psychological burn-out and countertransference management ability was adopted as the most appropriate model(¥ö©÷(df = 73, N = 163) = 145.81 (p <.001 ), CFI = .963, NFI = .929, TLI = .954, RESEA = .078 (90% confidence interval, .060 ¡ .097). In other words, the higher the level of mindfulness of a music therapist, the less psychological burn-out it has, a positively affecting the therapeutic relationship. And the other side, the higher the level of mindfulness, the higher the countertransference management ability, which positively affects the therapeutic relationship. And, it also suggests that it is beneficial to apply mindfulness to music therapist training courses or to the self-care of music therapists.
